- John Skelly
With over 22 years of industry experience, John Skelly (CIEC) is a board-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant through the ACAC (American Council for Accredited Certification).
This service is designed to help homeowners at any stage of the process, whether you are trying to understand inspection reports, navigating an active remediation, or confirming that work was done correctly.
You don’t need someone onsite to get expert help. My remote consultations offer answers and direction from anywhere.
My consulting services are built on daily, hands-on experience inspecting residential and commercial properties for mold, water damage, and indoor air quality concerns.
I am frequently engaged as a second or third opinion when clients have already hired other inspectors or testing companies but remain without clear answers.
Remote consultations give you direct access to expert guidance without the cost or logistics of an on-site visit. You’ll walk away with clarity, a clear plan, and confidence to move forward.
Vanessa
We had a very positive experience with John at HNST Environmental. I have mold allergies, allergic asthma, and other mold sensitivities. If you or your loved ones suspect mold, I highly recommend HNST Environmental. You’ll be in good hands!

Together, we review your findings, interpret prior reports, and develop a clear, practical remediation strategy based on actual risk, not fear-based assumptions.
You’ll leave with a structured plan you can confidently act on.
Not all inspection or consulting recommendations are created equal. In many cases, homeowners receive guidance that is overly conservative, exaggerated, or applied without full consideration of the building, exposure pathways, or real-world limitations.
My role is to help you understand what is truly necessary, what is optional, and what may not be justified based on your specific conditions. This allows you to prioritize remediation work intelligently, avoid unnecessary or ineffective actions, and move forward with a strategy that balances health concerns, building science, and practical realities.
Our most popular option for homeowners needing a deeper look.
